About the role
Ready for a print role that gives you more life outside of work? Join our Scoresby (Melbourne) team as an Apprentice Printer and enjoy a 3-day, 36-hour work week, giving you four full days off every week. More time to rest, recharge, and do what matters most – without compromising on meaningful, skilled work.
The Printing Assistant position is where your apprenticeship begins. You’ll support the Printer in operating presses and machinery to produce high-quality in-mould labels, while learning valuable skills in a hands-on production environment.
Duties include
- Assisting the Print Operator on Heidelberg machinery to produce labels – full training provided.
- Blending and testing inks according to specifications.
- Inspecting products for quality and identifying defects.
- Problem-solving on the go and learning new skills along the way.
- Working autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Following safety procedures and work instructions to keep operations running smoothly.
About You
- Ability to visually distinguish all colours (must not be colourblind).
- Prior packing or production experience is an advantage, but not essential.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a proactive willingness to learn.
- Strong focus on safety and following procedures.
- Reliable transport and full Australian working rights are required.
