About this role

Mujin is the future of industrial robotic systems in production and distribution environments. Our technology gives robots perception and awareness, enabling them to take on more advanced tasks. The Vice President (VP) of Software Development will oversee the software development strategy, manage developer teams, and ensure alignment with business goals. You will oversee software and system development projects, and programs. This role includes developing strategies to optimize operations, setting guidelines and product roadmaps, coordinating managers, and liaising with key clients and business partners. They will monitor the progress of all projects, prepare, and provide updates to other executives.


Position Description:

  • Define and execute the software development vision, ensuring alignment with Mujin’s business objectives and product roadmap.
  • Interface with other business units and translate product and software requirements into actionable plans for development teams.
  • Create and maintain software specifications that guide development efforts across the organization.
  • Manage the direction of software growth, ensuring scalability, reliability, and innovation across Mujin’s robotics platform.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand needs and incorporate feedback into technical planning.
  • Lead and mentor managers and leads responsible for developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Champion best practices in software development, including CI/CD, code quality, and robust testing frameworks.



Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.
  • 15+ years in software development, with 8+ years in leadership roles managing large, distributed teams.
  • Proven experience scaling development organizations to 50+ developers in high-growth environments.
  • Experience creating software specifications and driving technical planning and execution.
  • Ability to interface with customers and translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD, software architecture, and quality assurance at scale.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple engineering managers and global teams, aligning technical execution with business strategy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and make data-driven decisions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to cloud platforms, distributed systems, and UI/UX for complex applications.
