About this role
Responsibilities
- Carry out rail grinding, milling, track tamping, track realignment, track ballast and sleeper replacement, land surveying, site measurement, welding or non-destructive tests (NDT) with the use of track maintenance vehicles, road-rail machines and measuring equipment
- Perform the role of Engineer’s Person-In-Charge or Competent Person and other associated duties for compliance with the on-track safety requirements
- Prepare reports on work progress and resources usage
- Carry out structural welding to repair rail components when necessary
Requirements
- Higher Diploma / Higher Certificate in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience, of which 1 year should be at supervisory level
- Possession of a valid Hong Kong driving license is preferred
- Good communication and supervisory skills
- Experience in operating track maintenance vehicles, welding process and weld repair work in accordance with the Standard BSEN ISO 9606 2017, as well as possession of Certificate for excavator, loader or equivalent are advantages
Remarks
- Candidates with lower qualification but extensive experience will also be considered
- Required to perform shift duties and work under adverse weather and emergency situations

- The above position offers a Joining Bonus of $12,000, subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant programme

- The Senior Technician is responsible for carrying out various track maintenance tasks including rail grinding, track tamping, and structural welding. They also prepare reports on work progress and ensure compliance with on-track safety requirements.
