About this role

Job Summary: The Behavior Outreach Specialist-Metro Crisis Coordination Program provides community-based crisis support services to individuals of all ages who live within the 7 county metro area and have an IDD diagnosis, related condition, and those receiving services through a CADI Waiver.

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres - MORA – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit has supported adults, seniors and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs as well as age-related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro.

MORA provides an array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.

Salary Range: $58,999-$65,000
    

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate behavior and generate proactive and reactive support strategies which promote person-centeredness and least restrictive approaches
  • Travel to various settings within the 7-county metro area including family homes, schools, day programs, work sites, community based residential settings
  • Due to the short-term nature of services provided by MCCP, manage an ever-changing caseload of 12 – 19 individuals experiencing varying degrees of interfering behavior
  • Data collection, assessment, and interpretation of behavior 
  • Instruct the individual’s support network with strengthening their skills through improved understanding and implementation of sound behavioral support principles and strategies
  • Staff/caregiver training both in small groups and larger settings
  • Ongoing communication with Case Managers, Guardians, and other members of the individual’s Inter-Disciplinary Team
  • Timely documentation of case notes and formulation of written assessment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Strongly prefer a master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields, with at least 4,000 hours of post-master's supervised experience
  • Minimum of a BA in Psychology or related field
  • 4 years supervised experience in the service provision for persons with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and challenging behaviors as well as co-occurring mental or neuro-cognitive disorders
  • Working knowledge of co-occurring mental health and neurocognitive disorders
  • Knowledge of licensing standards, person centered practices, as well as professional ethical guidelines

Requirements:
  • Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status
  • Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license and insurance as required by state law.
