About this role

Your Team Responsibilities

The MSCI Sustainability Research Corporate Governance team is responsible for providing clients with actionable content on corporate governance and contributing innovative insights into the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings framework. 

 

Open to London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam locations

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee corporate governance methodology within MSCI ESG Ratings. 

  • Continuously improve how we think, how we model governance risks, and how we develop solutions for investors globally. 

  • Deliver relevant, actionable insights on companies to financial institutions, and become a trusted go-to expert on local governance topics. 

  • Publish research content on emerging corporate governance issues. 

  • Represent MSCI as a credible thought leader with strong point of view at conferences, external events and strategic client meetings. 

  • Collaborate with a wide range of teams (industry analysts, equity research, multi-asset class research, index, analytics) to produce innovative analytical models. 

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • 7-10 years professional experience in a corporate governance research (proxy research / advisory, investment research, corporate engagement, consulting, policy research). 

  • A critical thinker with attention to detail and the ability to work with large data sets. 

  • A demonstrated interest and specific knowledge around corporate governance practices. 

  • Strong data management and modelling skills, ideally coding expertise.  

  • A team player who can collaborate across a diverse global team. 

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast paced environment. 

  • Ambitious, with a desire to bring sustainability into the mainstream investment process. 

  • A storyteller with excellent writing, communication, and public presenting skills. 

  • An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) or relevant industry accreditation (preferred).
