Your Purpose

As a Sr. HR Manager - Crew Experience, you will support our HR / People Services onboard team in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment. You will play a critical role in helping to enhance the daily lives of our team members onboard both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.

Your Impact

• Support HR onboard team in delivering consistent and engaging employee experiences across both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys ships.
• Support recruitment efforts for shipboard HR / People Services functions, to ensure candidates align with our culture and values.
• Lead the onboarding process for new HR team members, creating a welcoming and informative journey.
• Collaborating with the Employee Engagement team on key events and activities.
• Help design and implement employee experience and well-being initiatives that boost engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
• Oversee the management of onboard Crew / Host Welfare Accounts.
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles throughout HR programs.
• Administer employee engagement surveys (routine and ad hoc), analyse data, and deliver insights with actionable recommendations.
• Track the effectiveness of engagement and well-being initiatives and help adjust strategies accordingly.
• Manage internal content platforms to ensure consistency and clarity in communications.
• Regular ship visits to ensure implementation of initiatives and build strong shipboard staff relationships.
• Collaborate with the IT Department to drive enhancements and new implementations within our platforms, aimed at improving crew experience and engagement.
• Partner with the extended HR team across the Cruise Divisions Crew offices, to support the implementation, communication, and periodic review of new policies, procedures, and processes.
• Provide ad hoc support for various projects and initiatives as required.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day HR and People Services matters in the absence of a Travelling Fleet Supervisor.
• Provide support to shoreside teams on shipboard HR matters related to MSC & Explora Journeys.

Your Journey so far

• Degree in Human Resources, Business or Psychology.
• 5+ years’ experience as HR Manager/Director onboard large cruise ships.
• In-depth knowledge of international maritime law (STCW, ILO and MLC) as well as various labor laws such as POEA, TAC and EU GDPR.
• Good knowledge of MSC Cruises & Explora Journeys HR onboard procedures and organizational structure for onboard functions is nice to have.

Your Essentials

• Shipboard experience as HR Director or as a Sr. Leader onboard large cruise ships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Extensive experience working with diverse teams and cultures.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong decision-making skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
• Fluency in English is required; any other language is an advantage.
• EU Passport or right to work in Switzerland.
