Your Purpose

This exciting new position supports the Explora Journeys Port & Itinerary Operations team, ensuring the efficient organisation and execution of all port and itinerary-related activities. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating tailored operational services that meet the brand’s premium standards, overseeing the timely planning and assessments based on nautical and operational requirements, ensuring all departmental reports are accurately completed and maintained within our internal systems.

Your Impact

  • Supports the day-to-day management and coordination of Explora Journeys Port Operations Fleet and related services in collaboration with the Head of Port Operations, acting as backup when required.
  • Act as the Administrator for the Port related Systems POP and Croute, configuring and managing stakeholder access, maintaining port configurations in alignment with published itineraries and extract required reports.
  • Participates in the development and enhancement of Port & Itinerary systems, tools, and related operational activities.
  • Assists the Head of Port Operations with berth request submissions and management, including the preparation of operational reports and statistical data.
  • Supports the technical and nautical accessibility assessments of ports worldwide, including site and terminal inspections as required.
  • Contributes to the evaluation of terminal operational setups and technologies, coordinating with ground teams to organize services.
  • Updates and maintains Port Information Files and assist with updating of Portolano and the revision of the Port Agency List on company intranet platforms ensuring the accuracy of related port reports.
  • Maintains and regularly update the operational calendar ensuring availability and alignment across connected company systems.
  • Performs tidal assessments for all ports on assigned berths to ensure operational safety and feasibility.
  • Plans required pilotage and premium immigration services in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and analyse tug usage statistics, ensuring port agent feedback is obtained and documented after each call.
  • Reviews and validate arrival/sailing reports, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Supports the monitoring and analysis of the port operations budget, assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Supports queries relating to vessel positioning and addresses of ports when requested by various local offices.

Your Journey so far

  • Experienced in working within the Cruise industry as a 2nd Officer, or higher. Alternitively, experience working in a Port/Marine Department within the cruise industry would also be considered (luxury cruise line experience a plus).
  • Computer literacy with proficient knowledge of systems such as Excel would be preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Availability to travel when required and with a short notice.
