Your Purpose

MSC Cruises, the world’s third largest cruise line brand is expanding its Procurement team in the USA. Reporting to the Manager, F&B Procurement, the F&B Procurement Specialist will support sourcing goals by managing expenditure and savings, implementing cost reduction strategies, planning and executing procurement bids, and overseeing supplier performance. This position requires an individual who is proactive, able to work independently, and adept at managing supplier performance while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

 

The scope of responsibilities includes all North America-based ships as well as our private island, Ocean Cay.

 

This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week in the office, in Miami.

Your Impact

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for North America-based ships and Ocean Cay operations. This includes formulating negotiation strategies to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
  • Perform comprehensive market analysis, benchmark analysis, and spend analysis for assigned categories or projects. Utilize insights to drive sourcing decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future product availability and prepare market reports
  • Ensure total cost of ownership are identified and optimal savings are realized through the entire purchasing process.
  • Plan and execute sourcing bids and lead supplier price negotiations to achieve the best possible value for the company. Ensure all agreements align with organizational objectives and budgets.
  • Negotiate prices, availability, and delivery terms with suppliers. Collaborate with logistics teams to define transportation and delivery schedules, ensuring timely and efficient supply chain operations.
  • Continuously assess market conditions and develop sourcing strategies that maximize value and mitigate risks. Stay updated on industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide expert guidance to internal stakeholders during budget preparation, including advising on product and service pricing to support accurate financial planning.
  • Assist or lead cross-functional sourcing projects that meet international clients’ requirements, ensuring project objectives are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure consistent service delivery, high quality, and cost-effectiveness. Address performance issues proactively to maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Engage in industry trade shows, conferences, and other professional development activities to remain informed of best practices and emerging trends in sourcing and procurement.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while seeking guidance from management on complex or unusual situations to ensure effective resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with US Federal Laws, Florida port regulations, and Standard Company Policies & Procedures in all sourcing and procurement activities.

Your Journey so far

  • College degree - preferably in finance, supply chain management or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in sourcing across key food categories. Specifically, protein, dairy, produce, or similar perishable goods.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of export regulations to all outside markets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Preferred knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle/Crunchtime
  • Demonstrate ability to solve complex problems and collaborate effectively through cross functional teams.
  • Perform additional duties as needed. The employee may be required to carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned by their immediate supervisor.
