• Consults on a regular basis with the 2 nd Electro-Technical Officer concerning methods and procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the electrical equipment.
• Consistently monitors, controls and troubleshoots all electrical equipment and systems machinery equipment as directed by the 2 nd Electro-Technical Officer.
• Immediately reports all electrical equipment damage or malfunction to the 2 nd Electro-Technical Officer.
• The Assistant Electrical Fitter is responsible for assisting the 2nd Electro-Technical Officer in the repairs and maintenance of the following systems: a) Elevators - Including assisting with routine maintenance and weekly safety checks. b) Hotel systems – To include automatic doors. c) Passenger/crew accommodation – Including cabin automation, lighting and power issues. d) Main Engines - To include assisting with routine safety shutdown tests e) Safety Systems - To include battery checks where required. f) Engine room general systems - To include assisting with the maintenance and repair of Waste Water Treatment systems, Evaporators etc.
• Ensures that all their work is completed to such a standard as to reduce , where possible, future failures.
• Works closely with the Senior Technical Storekeeper to ensure sufficient stock of spare parts and consumables is held on board to cover planned and unplanned maintenance at all times.
• Ensure that all assigned maintenance and repairs are communicated to the 2nd Electro-Technical Officer so that they can be entered into InfoSHIP thus keeping an accurate record of all repairs and parts used. The entries must also include the required test results/readings.
• Always operate with the full consideration for the comfort of Guests.
• Works Closely with the Facility manager in order to ensure all repair orders are completed in a timely manner
• Previous work experience in a similar position with luxury/premium Cruise company or in a related field and willingness to train.
• Certificate of Competencies license III/7
• High School Graduate with appropriate licenses as required by company. • Team player and proactive.
• Possess a valid passport and seaman book
• Computer literacy and ability to operate office equipment.
• Basic Windows based programs knowledge.
• Fluent in oral and written English (working and Safety language of the Company) Explora Fleet English Level: B1.
• Any major other languages is considered a major advantage.
