Motorola Solution’s Video Division is defining the future of
the security industry through innovative end-to-end-solutions. We’re changing
the landscape of the surveillance industry through advanced award-winning AI
based surveillance systems. Artificial Intelligence is transforming the world
and our team is advancing the field as it applies to the surveillance industry.

The fixed video devices mechanical design team is responsible for the mechanical
hardware design of our video security cameras and related devices.

Job Description

This position is based in Vancouver, BC, and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver area, as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

• Work as a part of the team to support various product design elements of new products (exposure to electronic enclosure design for both indoor and outdoor environments an asset)

• Designing parts for injection molding, die casting, sheet metal and machining

• Design support for the continuous improvement of current products

• Perform mechanical strength and tolerance analysis using FEA and other tools

• Design and perform testing of physical integrity at parts and system level

• Design resource during the ECR process

• Evaluates and recommends changes to techniques and design to find the most effective solution

• May be required to coordinate the work of others

• Reviews drawings and designs to ensure standards of quality and accuracy are met

• Estimating and tracking of time and costs related to all of the responsibilities above

• Ensuring product designs comply with regulatory agency requirements

• Work closely with Product and Project Management to specify, develop and implement successful designs

• Understand and work with project timelines and deliverables

• Proficient experience with CREO or SolidWorks, CREO preferred

Target Base Salary Range: $90k - 1$00k CAD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• A Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent with 3+ years of experience

• AND 3+ years of experience in the use of 3D CAD Software

• AND 1+ years of experience with thermal analysis

• AND 1+ years of experience in material and manufacturing process selection for mechanical parts
