We’ll empower you to treat your store as your own and help shape the winning culture that we are aspiring to achieve.</p><p>As a Store Manager, you’ll lead your team in delivering WHSmith’s handy range travel essentials and exceptional service as we transform the UK’s rest stop experience.</p><p><strong>What you will get in return as a Store Manager</strong></p><ul><li><p>Annual bonus up to *£7,800pa*</p></li><li><p>Up to 60% colleague discount for you, family, and friends with brands such as Costa Coffee, Pret A Manger, M&amp;S Simply Food, Burger King, Greggs, KFC, WHSmith and more</p></li><li><p>Enhanced benefits, including pension, sick pay, maternity, paternity, and life assurance</p></li><li><p>Fabulous development opportunities including funded qualifications, leading to the next step in your career being a Site Operations Manager</p></li></ul><p><strong>What you will be doing as a Store Manager</strong></p><ul><li><p>Ensure that the WHSmith unit achieves, as a minimum, the financial targets agreed budget and P&amp;L</p></li><li><p>As a Store Manager you will support and develop your team, ensuring that each colleague feels valued, supported, and able to grow both personal and professionally</p></li><li><p>Adhering to and ensuring delivery of brand standards</p></li><li><p>Overall responsibility for driving consistent high quality customer service and sales</p></li><li><p>Lead shifts including opening and closing the unit</p></li></ul><p><strong>What Skills &amp; Knowledge you’ll need</strong></p><ul><li><p>A proven track record in managing and leading teams in a high volume, retail, or catering brand environment</p></li><li><p>You will have previous experience work to and delivering against budgets, P&amp;L, labour costs and ratios and cost saving initiatives</p></li><li><p>An ability to build strong and positive relationships with stakeholders</p></li><li><p>Previous experience motivating and increasing the performance of your team with mentoring, training, and succession planning.</p></li><li><p>An ability to remain calm under pressure in a pressurised environment</p></li></ul><p>You may be an assistant general manager or deputy manager who is aspiring to take their career to the next level, or you may already be a manager within the retail, catering or hospitality sectors such as a restaurant manager, general manager, catering manager or store manager looking for that next challenge.
