Motivate is looking for a Field Bike Mechanic to assist with bike repairs throughout the bikeshare network of docking stations. Training in technical and unique aspects of bikeshare bikes will be provided. The starting schedule is Friday – Monday, 7am – 3 pm. Please note that schedules are subject to change as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and for business need. 

About the role

  • Complete bike maintenance, inspections, and repairs in a professional and timely manner, with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety in the field on an assigned route
  • Keep detailed, accurate records of repairs using a smartphone
  • Organize and use various repair tools, supplies, and other equipment
  • Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and repair methods
  • Follow all safety regulations and protocols, promptly reporting safety concerns to management

About you

  • You are mechanically inclined and are knowledgeable in completing repairs, prior experience working with professional bicycles or similar mechanical repairs preferred
  • You have a strong commitment to safe work practices
  • You are willing to work primarily outdoors traveling on a bike throughout our network of stations, but also indoors in our bike repair depot as needed
  • You are dependable, willing and able to work scheduled shifts, including off hours and/or weekends as needed
  • You can lift to 75 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
