Software Engineering Internship, Remote Vehicle Assistance (RVA)

<p>We're looking for a Software Engineer Intern to design and develop Motional's Remote Vehicle Assistance team.&nbsp; Remote Vehicle Assistance (RVA) project main goal is to overcome gaps in AV’s Operation Design Domain to allow expanded operations using a remote human operator. This involves overriding onboard AV systems (perception, planner and control), and transmitting low latency sensor and semantic data out of the vehicle.</p> <p><em>The internship will take place in our </em><strong><em>Singapore </em></strong><em>office and we expect a </em><strong><em>full-time internship period of at least 5 months</em></strong><em>. We offer flexible working hours and allow for remote work. The candidate will however have to live in Singapore for the duration of the internship.</em></p> <p><strong>What You'll Be Doing:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop, maintain and support C++ software that enables Remote Vehicle Assistance</li> <li>Develop low latency video encoding applications.</li> <li>Develop a low latency network communication stack.</li> <li>Develop client/server communication protocol using API like Restful or gRPC.</li> <li>Collaborate with C++ software components on the autonomous vehicle to integrate Remote Vehicle Assistance capabilities.</li> <li>Test-driven development of new features supporting the autonomous vehicle.</li> <li>Develop and maintain a comprehensive integration and simulation test suite to test all software before it goes to production.</li> <li>Collaborate with systems and product teams to develop a product that fits both customer needs and system requirements.</li> <li>Collaborate with testing and operations engineers to support Motional’s on-road testing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We're Looking For:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proficient in C++.</li> <li>Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.</li> <li>Working knowledge of SQL, Restful, gRPC API design.</li> <li>Basic understanding of Git, Bazel, JIRA, Confluence or similar development tools.</li> <li>Basic understanding of network security principles.</li> <li>Ability to learn how to use a Motional specific custom SOC.</li> <li>Experience working on a linux Operating System.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Points (not required):</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Modern C++ ( 11/14/17 or later)</li> <li>Experience working with Python, Golang</li> <li>Experience with QT, OpenGL</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>Motional is a driverless technology company making autonomous vehicles a safe, reliable, and accessible reality.
