Our Agency Finance Group

Morrison Foerster’s market-leading Agency Finance practice focuses on complex cross-border financing transactions in emerging markets worldwide, with a particular focus on Latin America, Central and South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.

 

The group advises development finance institutions, multilateral agencies, regional development banks, and export credit agencies in their funding of essential infrastructure projects in developing countries. Their practice covers a variety of types of transactions, including project finance, corporate finance and bank lending, investment funds, loan participations, capital markets transactions, political risk insurance, refinancings, and workouts, and spans multiple sectors, including energy (conventional and renewable), financial services, housing, education, hospitality, manufacturing, micro-finance, mining, petrochemicals, telecommunications, and transportation. Our team is capable, at all seniority levels, of running such transactions in any of English, Spanish and French as necessary to achieve client objectives.

 

Who You Are

  • You have a demonstrated interest in cross-border transactions, preferably in project finance, structured finance, or corporate finance from working in a leading domestic or international law firm.
  • You have experience with energy and infrastructure projects, development finance institutions and multilaterals, and emerging markets.
  • You are proficient in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French.
  • You are action-oriented and have an interest in taking on increased levels of responsibility supporting deals.
  • You are admitted to the state bar in which you are practicing or are eligible to waive in.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, health/welfare benefits (including parental, adoption, and fertility benefits), flexible time off, and paid holidays. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience (including class year); and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

 

New York, NY annual salary range $225,000-$310,000

Washington, DC annual salary range $225,000-$310,000
