We are actively seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Coudersport team who can hit the ground running. We need someone who is customer service focused, and experienced with investigating and correcting quality issues.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer who can develop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure materials that meet or exceed our customers' expectations in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment. The role reports directly to the Quality Manager.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Work with Purchasing and/or other functions, as needed to review suppliers purchase orders and establish supplier quality requirements.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports. Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures.
  • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Address Non-Conformances from all internal and external audits.
  • Follow-up on and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests.
  • Assisting the management team and provide QA support as necessary. Assist in process certification.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Serve as the Quality Assurance representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB).
  • Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Lead and/or support Advanced Quality Planning process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • ASQC Quality Engineering Certificate, B.S. degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 is a plus.
  • Kaizen and Lean/Six-Sigma Manufacturing techniques are preferred.
  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures is desired.
  • Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection is desired.
  • Computer proficiency.

  • Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
