Moog’s Corporate Group Is looking for an Ignition Support Specialist, to join our Enterprise Solutions Team!

The ideal candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues, and provide clear, actionable solutions. We are looking for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and end users, are a must!

You will work onsite at our facility in East Aurora, NY.

To qualify for the Ignition Support Specialist, here is what we would expect you to bring to Moog…

  • Bachelor’s degree computer science, information technology, or related area.

  • Over three years of direct experience with Ignition SCADA systems.

  • Over five years overall experience in industrial automation, controls, or operational technology/ information technology (OT/IT) support roles.

  • Strong knowledge of Ignition SCADA platform (Inductive Automation), including Gateway configuration, scripting (Python), and module management.

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP; OPC US, MQTT – preferred).

  • Proficiency in SQL databases for historian and reporting functions.

  • Understanding of PLC programming concepts and integration with SCADA systems.

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs) and cybersecurity principles for OT environments.

  • Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area.

  • Domestic travel up to 25%, could expand to international travel.

Required years of experience should be inclusive of…

  • Hands-on Ignition SCADA system implementation, and support in manufacturing or industrial settings.

  • SCADA integration with PLC hardware and other automation systems.

  • Exposure to MES systems, ERP integration, and data analysis within industrial environments.

  • System upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.

  • Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity practices and compliance standards.

  • Previous involvement in project deployment, including screen design and scripting.

As the Ignition Support Specialist, you will have the following responsibilities…

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Ignition SCADA systems across manufacturing and industrial environments.

  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure high availability and reliability.

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Ignition SCADA applications, including tags, alarms, historian, and reporting.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate SCADA with PLCs, MES, ERP, and other industrial systems.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Perform software updates, patches, and version upgrades while minimizing downtime.

  • Assist in designing and deploying new SCADA projects, including screens, dashboards, and data flows.

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and best practices for industrial control systems.

  • Provide training and guidance to end-users and junior team members on SCADA functionality and best practices.

  • Participate in root cause analysis for system failures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $85,000.00–$115,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
