Job Summary
Responsible for providing comprehensive, high quality, safe nutrition care to patients in a variety of settings which may include hospital, outpatient clinics, community settings, and other related entities, promote healthy eating habits to prevent and treat illness through supervision of food preparation and service, dietary modifications such as plant based diets, and public education. Assesses nutrition needs, provides advice, and implements interventions and/or dietary plans according to age and disease specific needs of patient, mentors and teaches nutrition and diet therapy principles to dietetic interns, medical students and Healthcare providers; Interprets and applies nutrition research to clinical practice. Supports community service through nutrition and health education programs to improve or maintain health of our communities; provides these services as a self-directed team member in accordance with hospital and department standards and policies, contract agreements, The Joint Commission, and regulatory agencies. Based on the hiring location areas of responsibility may include patient medical nutrition therapy, sports nutrition counseling, weight management and bariatric counseling, eating disorders, pediatrics, nutritional education, consulting, and community service.Monument Health offers competitive wages and benefits on qualifying positions.
