Under the supervision of the Technologist the assistant performs a wide variety of specific and specialized duties which require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative. The position requires knowledge of procedures and policies related to diagnostic X-ray, CT, US and MRI. Functions as a team member/will perform various administrative duties, assisting technologist with paperwork. Assist in room/equipment prep/set up/positioning of patients/scheduling and transportation of paperwork and or/patients to expedite exams. Assistants may need to research safety check lists and require working in a highly magnetic field. They may act as chaperones during exams.
Job Requirements
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent/Associate Degree
- One (1) year experience required
- Possess core competencies/CNA or Medical Assistant preferred
- Computer literate/PACS, Medical terminology required/Spanish preferred/ Knowledge of EPIC, PACS/RIS/Power injector/Radiation MRI safety
- Professional demeanor/customer service a must
- Good attendance and punctuality required
