Job Summary

Operates floor cleaning and polishing positions (equipment) to maintain hospital premises. Cleans and services Montefiore Mount Vernon premises including office areas, ancillaries, bathrooms, hallways, stairways, nursing areas, patient rooms/areas, etc. Performs related duties as required.

Essential Functions

• Operates floor cleaning equipment to clean and polish hospital premises. Checks equipment to ensure proper operation. Replaces buffing pad, burnishing pad, etc. and adds cleaning fluids as required.
• Clean hospital premises utilizing specified cleansing tecniques and chemicals while adhering to specified time frame.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment (tables, desks, chairs, filing cabinets, etc.) Celans venitien blinds, windows sills, cabinets and closets, Dusts and spot celan wall, baseboards, doors as required.
• Arranges and rearranges furniture before and after cleaning.
• Washes bathtubs, sinks, tiles, toilets including fixtures. Replenishes disposable items (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.).
• Sweeps and mops rooms and corridors. vacuums appropiate areas.
• Empties and cleans trash recepticales and wastepaper baskets. Gathers and disposes of refuse. Bags and boxes and tags red 6ag waste and removes designated areas. Removes bulk refuse to designated areas
• Keeps environmental services supply closet in good order. Requests cleaning supplies as needed.
• Perform related duties as required (assist during flood, snow, or other emergencies).
• Assist with training new staff.
