Join our Environmental Service team and make a difference at a great community based hospital, Montefiore New Rochelle and Schaffer Extended Care. Both facilities are a part of the Montefiore Health System, a premier academic health system serving more than 3 million people living in the New York City region and Hudson Valley.

We have fantastic opportunities for Environmental Service Aides to join our team. Montefiore is doing more to deliver science driven care where, when and how patients need it most offering patients state of the art healthcare close to home.

Responsibilities include:

• Cleans premises utilizing specified cleansing techniques and chemicals while adhering to specified time frame.

• Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment ( i.e., tables, desks, chairs, filing cabinets, etc.) cleans Venetian blinds, window sills, cabinets and closets. Dust and spot cleans wall, baseboards, and doors as required.

• Arranges and rearranges furniture before and after cleaning.

• Washes bathtubs, sinks, tiles, toilets including fixtures. Replenishes disposable items (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. ).

• Sweeps and mops rooms and corridors. Vacuums appropriate areas.

• Empties and cleans trash receptacles and wastepaper baskets. Gathers and disposes of refuse. Bags and boxes and tags red bag waste and removes to designated areas. Removes bulk refuse to designated areas.

• Keeps housekeeping supply closet in good order. Requests cleaning supplies as needed.

• Perform related duties as required ( assisting with floods, snow and other emergencies.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to read and write in English
