Full-Time | Licensed LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC | Assessment & Consultation

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or LMFT) to join the Montefiore/UBA team in providing expert assessment and consultation services at the intersection of mental health, intimate partner violence (IPV), and substance use within the child welfare system. Clinicians will provide assessments and consultations to families referred by our partners at the NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) in the Bronx.  This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about applying their expertise across diverse populations and supporting families with complex needs.

Montefiore, the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is nationally recognized for clinical excellence, research, and community partnerships that improve health outcomes across New York City. University Behavioral Associates (UBA), a part of Montefiore, is dedicated to providing innovative, evidence-based behavioral health and child welfare services to support children, families, and communities.

CSP clinical staff will be based at one of the following Bronx locations: 1200 Waters Place, 2100 Bartow Avenue, and 2501 Grand Concourse (with responsibilities at 1775 Grand Concourse). Staff may be expected to travel between locations at times. The typical shift is M-F from 8:30am-5pm but occasional evenings may be required.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will play a vital role in strengthening child welfare practice by providing high-quality assessments, consultations, and clinical insights to staff working with children and families. You will bring a broad generalist background, paired with specialized knowledge of mental health and IPV, to ensure families receive comprehensive, trauma-informed care.

We are hiring multiple Mental Health Clinicians, including those with generalist adult experience and generalist child experience, as well as those who specialize in assessing intimate partner violence, intellectual disability/ developmental disability, early childhood, and/or adolescent health.

This is a Union (1199) position. Starting salary is $39/ hour. Benefits are excellent, including generous time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, child care and tuition support, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments for children, caregivers, and families involved in the child welfare system.
  • Provide consultation on mental health concerns, IPV, and co-occurring substance use issues, offering actionable recommendations to staff and teams.
  • Apply a developmental and lifespan perspective, drawing on experience across multiple age groups.
  • Collaborate with child protection staff, supervisors, and providers to strengthen case planning and service connections.
  • Ensure that assessments and consultations are timely, accurate, and clinically sound, with a focus on safety, stability, and family well-being.

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT (required)
  • 5+ years of clinical experience providing direct services to children, adults, and/or families
  • 2+ years working within the child welfare system or with families affected by child welfare involvement
  • Strong clinical knowledge of mental health, intimate partner violence, and substance use and their intersections
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, practical recommendations
  • A trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to clinical work
  • Spanish speaking preferred
