About the Role: 

 

Join our team as a Patient Services Assistant (PSA) on a part time, ongoing basis to work at Chestnut Gardens.

 

Being part of the Support Services team and reporting to the General Services Manager, PSA’s play a vital role in supporting nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. PSA’s do a range of tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning, patient transfers, and equipment handling. Working as part of a team, PSA’s are responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and patient support across the hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Daily ward cleaning, discharge room cleans, and unscheduled cleans
  • Patient transfers using equipment such as bed movers and wheelchairs
  • Bed making and patient discharge assistance
  • Mortuary transfers and use of lifting machines and slings
  • Cleaning and transferring ward equipment
  • Supporting nursing staff with patient care tasks as directed
  • Physical work including lifting and manual handling

 

We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

 

Monday 0800-1600

Tuesday 0800-1600

8 Hours shifts

 

Wednesday 6:45-15:15

Thursday 6:45-15:15

8 Hours shifts

 

 

About You:

 

 To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in environmental services within an Aged Care, hospital or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You will have a passion for patient care and approach them with respect and empathy. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills; as well as intermediate computer skills. Whether you work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.

 

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Required)
  • Food Handlers Certificate – Level 1 (Required)
