Join our team as a Nurse Manager in a full time, ongoing position working out of Casey Hospital – Emergency Department.

 

About Us

Casey Hospital is entering an exciting new phase with the commencement of a purpose‑built Emergency Department, designed to meet the needs of our rapidly growing community. As part of this significant redevelopment, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Manager to provide strong clinical and operational leadership during the transition, opening, and ongoing operation of the new ED.

 

The new Emergency Department includes separate Adult and Paediatric emergency care areas, modern clinical spaces, and improved patient flow, creating a safer and more efficient environment for patients, families, and staff.

 

About the Role

The Nurse Manager will play a key leadership role in supporting the commencement and operational readiness of the new Emergency Department and will be responsible for:

  • Supporting staff through change and transition into a new clinical environment
  • Embedding safe models of care, clinical governance, and escalation processes
  • Overseeing workforce planning, rostering, and capability development
  • Driving high standards of patient care, safety, and family‑centred practice
  • Working collaboratively with medical, allied health, and operational leaders
  • Monitoring performance, risk, and quality indicators to support continuous improvement

 

About You 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

  • You have outstanding people and communication skills, combined with proven recent leadership and management experience
  • You have demonstrated prior experience of effective leadership and the delivery of excellence in patient care and services to the community
  • With proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, you readily build strong relationships with stakeholders in the delivery of patient centred care 
  • You are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and are outcome focussed with strong problem solving skills and an innovative thinking approach
  • Compassionate and able to demonstrate commitment to person-centred care, you are able to identify clinical risk issues and areas for improved clinical outcomes 

 

  • Recent experience as a NM in ED or least 2 years’ experience as an ANM
  • Mandatory post grad Emergency or Critical care qualifications
  • Desirable or working towards post graduate management qualifications
