Allied Health Assistant (AHA) Grade 2 and Grade 3 

We are pleased to be able to offer multiple Allied Health Assistant (AHA) roles within the Physiotherapy departments at Dandenong and Casey Hospitals. This includes ongoing full time Grade 2 AHA and fixed term (until February 2027) and a full-time Grade 3 AHA roles within the Dandenong Physiotherapy Acute Allied Health Assistant team. These roles will primarily work with general medical and/or surgical populations as well as intensive care.

Additionally, a fixed term Grade 2 (full time, parental leave until January 2027) AHA role within the subacute Physiotherapy team based at based at Casey Hospital. This role will primarily work with gerontology, neurological and general reconditioning patients.

About the Role  

Join our team as a Grade 2 (full time, ongoing), a Grade 3 (full time, fixed term) Allied Health Assistant (AHA) role primarily based within the acute team at Dandenong Hospital or as a Grade 2 AHA (full time, fixed term) primarily based within the sub acute team at Casey Hospital. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing team that offers support and promotes growth. The Grade 2 and Grade 3 AHA is responsible for the provision of assistance to Physiotherapists and other Allied Health professionals. They perform work of a general nature under the delegation and supervision of allied health professionals including, but not limited to, the following:   

  • Work with direct supervision to implement therapeutic and related activities, in individual and group settings 

  • Provide clinical assistance to Allied Health professionals implementing therapy programs in consultation with the Allied Health Professionals  

  • Provide non-clinical assistance to Allied Health professionals including but not limited to administrative and cleaning duties  

As part of the Allied Health team, you will be expected to work across sites as required.

About You  

The successful candidates will be required to participate in/lead programs, processes and quality improvement activities as part of our Allied Health Assistant and Physiotherapy teams. You may be responsible for representing the Dandenong Allied Health Assistant team at Monash Health AHA group meetings and will demonstrate excellence in initiative and program implementation and a commitment to ongoing evaluation and best practice. Communication and working effectively in a team are pivotal to this role. 

What you need:  

  • Certificate III or Certificate IV (preferred) in Allied Health Assistance   

  • For Grade 3 AHA, minimum 3 years’ experience (full time equivalent) and Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance are required  

  • Relevant experience working as an AHA in a health care setting preferred   

  • A current Australian Drivers Licence
