Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for handling complex and non‑standard incoming supplier invoices, supporting payment and closing activities, and actively contributing to knowledge sharing and team development within the Accounts Payable function.
Key responsibilities
Review and process incoming supplier invoices in line with current regulatory requirements, with a focus on complex and new invoice types
Monitor workflows, manage related activities, investigate and clear open items
Reconcile and adjust SAP automatic payment proposal reports, provide confirmation to the payment team
Prepare and process urgent and manual payment requests, including invoice verification and payment preparation
Perform month‑end closing activities: GR/IR account reconciliation and clearing, accrual calculation and posting
Reconcile supplier accounts and support other closing‑related tasks according to the closing timetable
Prepare, maintain and update process documentation; monitor regulatory changes and propose process improvements
Support, train and professionally assist team members in day‑to‑day issue resolution
Participate in process improvement initiatives and implementation projects
Provide back‑up for team members during absences
What Makes You Successful
University or college degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting and/or Accounts Payable
Advanced accounting knowledge (certified accountant qualification is an advantage)
Confident user of SAP (MM & FI A/P knowledge is a strong advantage)
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
English language skills at intermediate level (min. B1)
Hungarian language skills at intermediate level required for daily collaboration
Experience in an international environment is an advantage
