We are currently looking for talented individuals to join us for below role
Senior Quality Engineer (Welding)We are currently based at KL Eco City, Malaysia.
A Senior Welding Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of welding activities in corporate and / or projects. His / Her primary roles and responsibilities include developing standards and process, provide technical support to engineering, procurement, construction, and operation team.
Key Accountabilities
Standards and Procedures.• Develop / Review company and its affiliated entities Project standards and process documents. • Reviews / Verifies / Approves Quality Assurance Procedures submitted by yards and suppliers.
Applicable codes and standards• Provide welding engineering support to Engineering, procurement, and construction team to ensure compliance to applicable codes and standards, customer and classification society rules requirements. • Provide technical support / interpretation of industry standards and specifications such as ASME, AWS, API, ISO, NORSOK, NACE etc.,
Coordination• Liaises, where required, with Project EPCI Team, Classification society and Client representative. • Coordination with Project Management Team (PMT) and Client during Bidding / Feed phase.
Audits and Assessments• Conduct project audits raise and report NCR (Non-conformance report) / Observations if any concerns noticed during audit and assessments, assist in resolving the findings as required.
Technical Query / Deviation Request• Review of Technical Queries (TQ) / Design Deviation (DDN) submitted by the yards / Suppliers.
Welding procedure Qualifications• Prepare / Review / Approve welding procedure qualifications documents in projects. • Provides technical advise on material and welding consumable selection and procedure qualification to project team members.
Implementation / Develop new / latest techniques• Capable to manage or develop solutions to non-recurring problems by analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating various precedents and data. • Provide Assistance to suppliers and subcontractors to develop new welding process / procedures to suit project needs.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem-Solving skills.• Coordinate, involve and prepare in root cause analyses on welding related issues as required. • Capable to manage or develop solutions to non-recurring problems by analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating various precedents and data with the assistance of project QA manager, package engineer, site manager and supervisors.
KPIs• Development and report welding rejection and associated KPIs.
Implementation of Lessons learned• Based on past project lessons make necessary changes in MODEC Corporate/Project Specifications.
Training & Development• Conduct training for Welding to project team
Qualifications
• Degree or Diploma in Mech or any relevant Engineering discipline. Degree is preferred.
• 1) Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas area or FPSO line(s) or equivalent.
• 2) Working knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, classification.
• 3) Relevant working experience in oil and gas sector in a similar position.
Competencies
Technical:
• International welding Engr certification / Certified welding engineer.
• Laboratory testing knowledge for welding procedure qualifications.
• ISO 9001 Certification.
