We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Procurement Manager based in Romania, who preferably has strong management experience supporting global procurement hubs along with a strong desire to learn and grow with an innovative company.  This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative international environment navigating multiple technologies, systems, processes, organizations, sites, cultures and practices to understand & validate issues and facilitate solutions. The Sr. Procurement Manager will manage a regional team responsible for all aspects of procurement, supplier management, cost saving and people management for Europe region. Additionally, you will identify and develop new suppliers and improve existing supplier performance in support of MKS global category sourcing strategies. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative international environment navigating multiple technologies, systems, processes, organizations, sites, cultures and support a robust category strategy. You will have global responsibility for providing a rapid response to demand needs and will ensure supply continuity.

How you will achieve this:

  • Effectively and efficiently build and manage a high performing team of buyers supporting MKS Europe business units.
  • Solve dynamic problems that are important to the success of the organization and draw on experience to successfully negotiate lowest total cost of ownership/best price, OTD, lead times, customer satisfaction, and quality.
  • Communicate risk mitigation action plans to C-suite level executive stakeholders.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to support the business needs.
  • Proactively drive the supply chain to supply and exceed our production floor’s needs and eliminate any interruptions
  • Capable to manage multiple projects and complete daily/weekly/monthly purchasing goals and metrics
  • Serve as the focal point for escalation of all supplier relationship issues for the suppliers under your responsibility
  • Travel to suppliers and other MKS facilities 10%-20% of the time or as required for this position

What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity is:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree preferably in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, preferred Masters
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical parts, electronic component manufacturers, contract manufacturers and broker networks for electronic components.
  • Proven crises management skills. Flexibility to travel globally up to 30% of the time
  • Demonstrated global and cross functional teams with a proven track record of taking ownership.
  • A demonstrated background and proven experience with purchasing and supply chain tools
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP Systems, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced level ability in the use of Excel & Power Point
  • A willingness and ability to influence and change the status quo
  • Strong proficiency in both English and French
