About this role

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Engineering Support Specialist at Newport Corporation, you will partner with Engineering to support engineering department activities. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:
• Preparing Engineering Change Orders (ECO's)
• Maintaining inventory used in product development, including research, ordering parts and coordinating delivery of material with vendors.
• Organizing and and maintaining project data such as project files, schedules, costs and tasks.
• Making minor updates to CAD drawings to support ECO's.
• Preparing work instructions for delivery to manufacturing teams.
• Preparing and providing documentation to marketing and sales as required.
• Maintaining and reporting on engineering tasks backlog.

Skills You Bring:
• Associate degree (AS, AAS, or AET) or equivalent technical experience preferred
• Minimum 6+ years of job-related work experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling technical data and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects effectively.
• Proficiency with computer aided design software or ability to learn quickly.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with modifying and updating drawings (drafting) in Solidworks and Altium Designer.
• Experience in manufacturing or development of electronic assemblies.
• Experience using Agile PDM and/or SAP ERP software systems

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 95% of the time

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• This role operates in a professional office environment
