Role Overview

The Support Project Engineer position is responsible for supporting the project engineering team in project controls and other project related tasks. This role oversees planning, setup, trouble shooting, and monitoring project systems. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to ensure efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Support the periodic reviews of engineering execution schedule, expediting of engineering teams and project technical delivery status.
  • Perform advanced report analysis using Microsoft Excel, and other tools to develop unique data analyses and visualization techniques.
  • Review project documents and drawings to meet contractual obligations for document flow.  
  • Understands the Contract requirements and supports the translation of the scope of work to the discipline engineering teams.
  • Support Project Managers in tracking and compiling design or specification changes and their impacts (e.g., ECNs and contract deviations), while also assisting Project Engineers in managing and compiling standard project engineering deliverables (e.g., GT OMM, lubrication list, contract deviation reports).
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline or technical diploma from college or university and 3 Years extensive direct experience. Experience with Power Generation, Energy Systems, and Engineering Services desired.
  • Multilingual in Japanese, Spanish and/or Portuguese would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills related to engineering problem solving. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Minimal travel May be required – potential to visit project sites domestic and travel for up to 5% of the assigned work year.
