Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring an Operations Manager in the Savannah, GA location. The principal responsibilities of this position are to: lead plant operations over all shifts to meet customer demand by safely producing low cost and high quality products, drive and sustain continuous improvements, successfully lead and execute the annual business plan to achieve or exceed expectations by collaborating cross functionally with maintenance, engineering, human resources, accounting and quality assurance. In addition, this role will also select, train and develop management, supervisory, and hourly personnel to meet organizational needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing operations to meet company goals, customer requirements, and quality standards. This includes:
  • Production Management: Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing activities; manage scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and distribution across multiple areas.
  • Process Improvement & Standardization: Lead cost reduction initiatives, implement ERP protocols, and drive continuous improvement and automation efforts.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure production meets customer and quality specifications; support audits and maintain safe, efficient work environments.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise production teams, manage staffing and training, and promote collaboration across departments. Serve as backup to the direct manager.
  • Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Analyze manufacturing processes, support design reviews, and manage departmental budgets with approval authority.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Lead resolution of complex manufacturing issues and make key decisions to support operational success.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, plus 5+ years in operational management.
  • Able to interpret technical and business documents, write professional reports, and present to diverse audiences including leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in advanced math and statistical analysis for decision-making and process evaluation.
  • Skilled in defining problems, analyzing data, and interpreting complex technical instructions.
  • Experienced with databases, project management tools, spreadsheets, word processing, and technical diagrams.
