Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician Level II for its Savannah, GA location. This role is responsible for performing complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a wide range of systems and equipment within the facility. Key responsibilities include the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical components such as engines, motors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical systems, machine controls, and other production machinery. The Level II Technician also takes a leadership role by mentoring junior technicians and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours—including nights, weekends, and holidays—to respond to emergencies such as machine breakdowns, power outages, or severe weather events.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate core competencies: action-oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self and others, and ownership.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues across complex systems.
  • Design, install, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, including when replacements are unavailable.
  • Diagnose and repair advanced systems such as PLCs, HMIs, motion controls, drives, encoders, and distributed control systems.
  • Develop and implement control systems, calibration procedures, and configuration settings with minimal guidance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance using diagnostic tools and analyze performance trends.
  • Support mechanical diagnostics and installations, including precision components and motion control adjustments; assist with specialized testing (e.g., ball bar tests).
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations at company, local, state, and federal levels; obtain and maintain relevant certifications.
  • Follow all safety policies, report unsafe conditions, and maintain a strong commitment to safety.
  • Independently manage departmental projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all communications and actions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school, or 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Able to read and interpret technical documents, write basic reports, and communicate clearly in small group settings.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems issues on a diverse range of equipment and machinery including CNC equipment, Fanuc, Okuma, PLC Diagnostics, HMI troubleshooting,   
  • Understanding of Logic pathways. 
  • Proficient in basic math, including fractions, percentages, and interpreting graphs.
  • Able to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions and resolve routine issues.
  • Basic proficiency with email, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics software.
