Role Overview

The PGS Supply Chain Director translates Corporate Strategic Goals into actionable implementation plans managed and executed by Mitsubishi Power managers, employees, and contractor personnel. Assigned to the Power Generation Services (PGS) Business Unit, the Director, PGS Supply Chain is responsible for implementing and successfully executing complete, on-time delivery of goods and services sold by Mitsubishi Power that meet quality and performance contract expectations and are delivered at costs that meet or improve the business profitability objectives.

The Director will identify and implement significant cost reduction strategies while improving quality, delivery, and service, requiring in-depth analysis and usage of global supply chain markets. This role encourages and fosters an environment of trust and cooperation throughout the internal and external supply chain.

The Director leads a team to transact and support all systems affecting the planning, procurement, and transport of products and services for PGS parts and field services teams, and Orlando Service Center operations. The role directs activities involved in procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, Mitsubishi Power–designed parts, third-party and commercially available spare parts, supplies, subcontract services, and other materials associated with field service, LTSA, Gas and Steam Turbines, Generator, and Auxiliary parts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate Mitsubishi Power’s core competencies: action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self and others, and ownership
  • Establish and lead functional managers and teams supporting Technical Procurement, Projects Procurement, Procurement Operations, Transportation, and Warehouse Logistics
  • Prepare and manage annual department operating expense and capital budgets
  • Equip, train, and support managers and team members to manage workload in functional and cross-functional reporting structures
  • Lead and support supply chain, subcontract, and logistics efforts in new business development in Latin America and Intelligent Solutions business, as directed
  • Manage the Supplier Qualification Process, including evaluation and performance reviews
  • Lead identification, estimation, and implementation of purchased material cost-down initiatives to meet productivity targets
  • Align supply chain strategies with MHI and affiliated companies, leveraging best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support forecasting, market cost targets, and strategic contracting
  • Train, mentor, and develop personnel to maintain a strong culture of continuous improvement
  • Facilitate interaction between suppliers and engineering functions to reduce total cost
  • Develop and manage KPIs to optimize supply chain performance and ensure contract compliance
  • Implement strategies to proactively monitor and expedite materials as needed
  • Implement processes for handling defective materials and returns to vendors
  • Recruit and maintain suppliers who provide high-quality, competitively priced products and services
  • Ensure legal and ethical compliance in all transactions
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve department and company goals
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms
  • Protect confidential information
  • Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) and at least eight (8) years of related experience in a manufacturing or service environment; advanced degrees or purchasing-related certifications a plus
  • Proficiency in inventory management techniques
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and perform complex calculations
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong computer skills, including database, project management, spreadsheet, word processing, statistical tools, graphics, and technical diagrams
  • Deep knowledge of SAP/Ariba
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
