About this role

As an Avionics Technician, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.

  • Install and test complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft. 
  • Comply with environmental health/safety policies and procedures.  
  • Perform and document all work per appropriate manuals and regulations. 
  • Remove, repair and re-install any problematic avionics equipment before aircraft is cleared. 
  • Assemble and install electrical components. 
  • Operate ground support equipment if required. 
  • Provide accurate diagnosis of avionics problem(s). 
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs and worked performed on aircraft. 

 

Here’s what is required to succeed as an Avionics Technician.

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience or substantiated equivalent experience.  
  • Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.   
  • Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus.  
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is preferred.  
  • GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification preferred.  
  • Certification from Avionics, Electric A/C Technical school or equivalent military training is preferred. 
  • Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.  
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention-to-detail. 
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and technology.  
  • Understand various aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight controls. 
  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA), if applicable. 
  • Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends. 
  • Possess (basic) set of tools. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing.
