Assembly Technician 2C    - Sutton, MA

1st shift

 

Overview:

The Assembly Technician will be responsible for performing complex and advanced assembly of products according to established specifications, instructions and engineering drawings. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Perform pre-assembly activities such as cleaning, lubricating and deburring and inspecting parts for proper machining finish and dimensions.
  • Perform complex and advanced assembly of products according to established specifications, instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Perform high precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Resolves assembly problems by evaluating issues and notifying supervisor to obtain additional direction.
  • Implements and identify needs for improvement by conveying it to senior personnel for continuous process improvements and quality product.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing orders for supplies.

Required Knowledge/skills, Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or a general educational diploma.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience performing complex and advanced assembly of products
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematic engineering drawings and blueprints and ability to learn and master new assembly skills.
  • Math abilities to include knowledge of fractions and decimal equivalents. Basic understanding of metric system measurements and conversion from inches/feet to mm/cm/m.
  • Use meters, gages, hydraulic pumps and other hand and power tools.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds and stand on feet for several hours.
  • Strong communication skills.

Compensation Range

$22.25 - $33.40 hourly. Please note that the final offer may vary within this range based on a candidates experience, skills, and qualifications.
