The Mental Health Worker NIGHT SHIFT plays a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing compassionate care and facilitating access to appropriate resources. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, develop personalized care plans, and implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving their overall well-being. The Mental Health Worker collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, counselors, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. A key outcome of this role is to empower clients through education, counseling, and vocational training, enabling them to achieve greater independence and quality of life. Ultimately, the Mental Health Worker contributes to the reduction of mental health crises and supports successful community reintegration for clients across diverse settings in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related mental health field.
  • Experience in mental health counseling or behavioral health support roles.
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders, psychotherapy techniques, and case management principles.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to mental health and behavioral health services.
  • Ability to develop and implement discharge plans and vocational training programs.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK NIGHTS 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related discipline.
  • Certification or licensure as a Mental Health Counselor or equivalent credential.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including underserved or at-risk groups.
  • Training in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and case management software.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health status and needs using established psychological and behavioral health frameworks.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care and discharge plans in collaboration with clients and healthcare teams.
  • Provide direct counseling and psychotherapy services, utilizing evidence-based techniques to support clients’ emotional and behavioral health.
  • Facilitate vocational training and life skills development to promote client independence and community integration.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case management records, including documentation of medical terminology and treatment progress.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and support networks to ensure clients have access to necessary social, medical, and vocational resources.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review client progress and adjust care plans as needed.
