About the role
We are looking for experienced technicians who will use their knowledge to maintain an inviting property and address its needs, including appearance, safety, the make-ready process, preventative maintenance, and repair.
Pay is based on experience — midpoint range is $23/hr.
How you will be successful
- Complete service requests in an effective, timely manner and to the satisfaction of residents
- Perform preventive maintenance on property buildings, units, appliances, and equipment
- Ensure all repairs, replacements, and clean-up are completed for the make-ready process
- Communicate daily with the property office, reporting on the progress of service requests and make-readies
- Identify and report any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs to management
- Assist other maintenance team members as needed
- Monitor pool operations on a daily basis and maintain appropriate health department standards
- Maintain curb appeal by assisting with groundskeeping and picking up litter
- Assist with housekeeping, inspections, and other tasks as assigned by the property manager or maintenance supervisor
- Maintain positive communication with residents and provide excellent service through courteous and timely responses to resident needs and concerns
- Perform call-back emergency service as required
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of work areas and maintenance shops
- Abide by Mills policies and procedures and all laws pertaining to Fair Housing, the Americans with Disabilities Act, etc

What you need
- High school diploma or GED; trade school degree preferred
- Minimum one year of maintenance experience preferred
- EPA Certification Type I and II, or Universal, required; or willingness to complete certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Proven ability to maintain composure and solve problems with keen insight when faced with obstacles
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)
- Adept at building relationships and working in a team environment, with a proven track record of sharing ideas, providing encouragement, building on others’ ideas, giving due appreciation, and bringing out the best in others
