General Purpose
A seasoned sustainability data analyst who independently manages complex projects, enhances platform integration, and contributes to strategic data initiatives. This role supports the objectives of the Sustainability and Stewardship department by collecting, analyzing, and maintaining data that advances corporate sustainability and compliance programs. The analyst serves as a key liaison between sustainability, product stewardship, product development, product management, and the external supply chain. With strong analytical skills, the ability to integrate data across systems, and a growing understanding of sustainability concepts, they provide meaningful data insights that support business decisions and contribute to system improvements that enhance sustainability performance.They also contribute to the design and evolution of sustainability data architecture, ensuring scalable and integrated solutions across enterprise systems. At this level, the analyst operates with minimal oversight and demonstrates strong communication, supplier engagement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Essential Functions
Develop a solid understanding of sustainability concepts, data requirements, and program needs, with a willingness to expand knowledge in areas such as materials, product data, carbon impacts, and certification systems as needed.
Understand product, material, and environmental data at an intermediate-to-advanced level, with the ability to connect information across systems and identify where data gaps exist.
Apply strong analytical skills to organize, combine, and interpret data from multiple sources, supporting scenario analysis, decision making, and continuous improvement efforts.
 Navigate enterprise systems (e.g., PLM, ERP) and sustainability tools (e.g., CMAP, Ecomedes, Radix Tree) confidently, using them to bridge data gaps, troubleshoot inconsistencies, and support cross functional collaboration.
Support compliance and sustainability efforts through accurate data validation and a developing knowledge of global regulations, without requiring deep regulatory expertise.
Help design and refine data workflows, templates, and reporting structures that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen data integrity across teams.
Create clear visualizations, summaries, and data stories that translate complex information into insights for cross functional partners and leadership.
Contribute to system integrations, enhancements, and process improvements by identifying issues, recommending solutions, and collaborating closely with IT, engineering, product development, and supply chain teams.
Participate in sustainability initiatives related to material database improvements, carbon data development, and future focused system design, exploring new possibilities and contributing ideas that support long term organizational goals.
Provide expert input on reporting, certifications, internal audits, and data integration

Qualifications

Education/Experience 
 
Bachelor's degree in a technical or analytical field (e.g., environmental science, data analytics, engineering, business) or equivalent experience.
Typically requires 4+ years of experience in sustainability data or equivalent roles, demonstrating leadership in cross-functional projects and advanced analytics.

Licenses and Certifications

None required. Training or experience in Agile methodologies and SQL/data modeling tools is a plus.  Chemical and material knowledge a plus.

 
Skills and Abilities
Strong ability to assess complex data environments, identify gaps, and design solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and data quality across sustainability workflows and systems.
Demonstrated aptitude for learning new tools, platforms, and processes quickly, with the ability to understand how different Sustainability teams and enterprise systems interact and depend on one another.
Advanced analytical skills, including data modeling, scenario analysis, and the ability to manage, validate, and interpret complex datasets across multiple systems.
Passion for problem solving and continuous improvement, with a focus on introducing automation, AI enabled solutions, and streamlined processes to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Strong cross functional collaboration skills; able to work effectively with Sustainability, IT, engineering, product development, supply management, and other partners to align data needs and drive shared solutions.
Business acumen sufficient to translate sustainability and carbon related data into insights that support decision making, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to clearly explain data concepts to technical and non technical audiences and support knowledge sharing across teams.
Highly detail oriented with strong systems thinking; capable of navigating ambiguity, managing multiple priorities, and improving or standardizing workflows in a dynamic environment.
Proven ability to work independently with a high level of accountability while coordinating effectively with multiple stakeholders across teams and functions.
 
Additional Skills and Abilities

Familiarity with chemical and material data, material attributes, or product composition concepts is a plus, particularly in the context of sustainability data, carbon analysis, and system-driven decision-making.
