GENERAL PURPOSE


Leads team of supply chain individual contributors supporting aspects of production planning, material planning, inventory control and master scheduling. Responsible for reporting and ensuring efficient and cost-effective production planning to support customer requirements and manufacturing operations.  Also responsible for overall material planning site strategy, inventory levels, and supplier delivery performance to deliver high levels of customer reliability.  Accountable for delivering on key objectives and metrics while fostering high levels of team engagement. Requires a high level of tactical day-to-day operations engagement.  This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our supply chain while playing a critical role in supplier development. As our business grows, you’ll help build strong supplier partnerships, improve capabilities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures developmental opportunities for employees to achieve a dynamic workforce operating at its fullest potential.
  • Serve as escalation point for team when urgent issues with delivery, customer reliability, quality or operations arise.
  • Accountable to lead time to achieve individualized goals and objectives that support MillerKnoll’s corporate strategies.
  • Manages and supports ongoing business relationships between suppliers and MillerKnoll in collaboration with Purchasing teams.
  • Lead and participate in other projects and initiatives as requested.
  • Provides data, analyses and reports (e.g. material availability, inventory, network analysis, supplier on-time delivery, etc.) for use in executive decision-making.
  • Provides direction and leads Material Planning, Production Planning, Shipping, and Logistics.
  • Reviews existing materials and processes and identifies areas for improvement. Participates in and may lead MillerKnoll Performance System (MKPS) continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Effectively utilize supplier collaboration and supplier portal systems. 
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead supplier development: assess capabilities, implement improvement plans, and support onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field is required.  Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing or other supply chain related fields. 
  • Experience in supplier development or supplier quality improvement projects.


Licenses and Certifications

  •  Supply Chain certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP or ISM preferred. 

Skills and Abilities

  • Prior leadership of individual contributors is preferred.  
  • Initiates and identifies teams to lead the development and implementation of new strategies relative to materials management processes, including optimizing material flow, improving communication flow, and improving overall efficiency across MillerKnoll’s internal network and external suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with frequently changing priorities, and with different tasks, responsibilities and people.
  • Ability to coach and lead a team of individuals to optimize team performance.
  • Ability to analyze and present data for business cases scenarios to support problem-solving, tracking of process improvements and overall tracking for goals and objectives
  • Work with, support, and initiate communication with Supplier Development Managers and Supplier Commodity Managers to ensure effective communication with and continued development of the supplier base, which includes training, communicating business needs, and articulating overall business capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Suite tools and promote office efficiency.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Expert communication skills, e.g. verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation.
  • Must have a high level of customer focus.
  • Must be financially literate and possess business acumen.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
