About this role
Communication
Internal Communication:
• Supervisor, Freight, Customs Documentation team, Warehouse personnel, Drivers
• Financial Accountant and Accounts department
Purpose:
• Ensures that inbound and outbound consignments are processed in a timely manner in accordance to agreed customer service level agreements and documentation requirements.
• Ensure that payments have been processed, follow up on outstanding accounts receivables.
External Communication:
• Customs authorities and JAFZA / EHS Authorities
• Customers, Shipping lines and agencies, TransportersTransporters
Purpose:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local procedures and processes. Ensure payments and all customs formalities are executed in accordance with regulations.
• Communicate and coordinate documentation and other activities in line with customer requirements.
• Coordinate with transport companies to ensure deliveries are processed in line with customer requirements.
Occupational Health & Safety and Environment
Accountability:
Are accountable for their acts and omissions.
Responsibility:
To follow agreed safe systems of work; to follow training and instructions; and to report accidents, incidents and near misses.
Authority:
To stop work if they think the work is unsafe.
What you'll do
- The Clerk is responsible for ensuring that inbound and outbound consignments are processed timely and in compliance with customer service agreements. They also coordinate with transport companies and customs authorities to ensure all documentation and payments are handled according to regulations.
