Position Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing CNC Programming Engineer to join our team in Mt. Orab, Ohio. This role will be responsible for developing CAM methodologies, creating solutions for highly technical problems, simplify setup procedures, tooling integration and create standard practices to improve the processes used in the making of CNC programs. This role will establish internal processes that safely ensures the production of high-quality products that meet compliance and project requirements. Responsibilities include driving continuous improvement throughout the shop by owning project timelines, improving throughput & cost, resolving technical/process issues, and drive lean initiatives throughout the shop. Lead and effectively interface with support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, Quality, Delivery, and Cost savings goals.
Work You’ll Do:
• Create CNC machining programs from 3D models using CAD/CAM software.
• Create Setup drawings and instructions.
• Select cutting tools used in the CAM programs.
• Lead and/or participates in process improvement initiatives.
• Work with shop to improve the machining process.
• Use an ERP system to update time standards and scheduling.
• Coordinating with manufacturing engineers to optimize the manufacturability of products to achieve specified design.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Implement, maintain, and continuously improve 5S methodology in assigned areas, drive culture change.
• Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity.
• Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost to meet department goals.
Team:
• This role will be a part of the Mt. Orab Manufacturing Engineering team reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School diploma with a focus on math, computer science and engineering-related subjects.
• 5 plus years of CNC manufacturing work experience.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software, 3D CNC model-based programming, experience using machining processes, and familiarity with quality control methods.
• Expert knowledge of cutting tools used in the metal machining process.
• Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrates ability to plan, communicate and execute.
• Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
• Previous work experience as a CNC programmer using 3D CAD software, 3D CNC model-based programming.
• Experience using CAM Simulation software to prove out CNC programs before sending to the shop.
