COOK POSITION SUMMARY:

A TOP RATED rated skilled nursing facility located in Orange County, New York, that has been trusted by families to care for their loved ones for more than 30 years. • The Cook is responsible for preparation/cooking of foods and to provide our residents with all of their meals and/or snacks in a sanitary and safe manner adhering to all policies and procedures of the facility while focusing on customer service and satisfaction.
• Cook provides our residents with all of their meals in a sanitary and safe manner adhering to all policies and procedures of the facility and New York State Department of Health codes while focusing on customer service and satisfaction.
• Cook uses proper dining room service for the residents and/or family members.
• Proper “in kitchen” preparation and cleaning in regard to the station assigned to you.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
• Prepare all foods adhering to all NY State codes and regulations for sanitation, storage and temperature

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• A minimum of two years experience and training in food preparation in a health care facility or related food service operation. At least 1 year experience as a cook in a health care setting desired.
• Completion of an approved sanitation course or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a full knowledge of all sanitary codes and all menu production methods.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
• Exemplary customer service skills.
• Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC
