Description

POSITION: Full-time Accounting Coordinator I


PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assists with general accounting duties related to member transactional activities, including data entry. Maintains accuracy of Credit Union accounting systems though verification of entries, posting, adjustments and reconciliations. Balances assigned GL accounts, performs necessary entries and assists with month-end GL accruals. Processes and/or disburses accounts payable checks and administers SEG employee payroll deductions.


REQUIRED SKILLS: Basic knowledge of accounting principles and the general ledger system, ATM, ACH, & VISA rules and regulations and related networks and systems. Basic knowledge of tellering cash functions and transaction flow. Must be PC-proficient, including keyboarding skills, in a Windows environment, with proficiency in Excel. Must also be proficient at 10-key. Position requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills plus the ability to work with staff, vendors, and Mid Oregon members to resolve issues in a timely manner.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE: The work schedule is on a rotation schedule as follows: On rotation: M: 6:30am-3:30pm / M-Th 7:00-5:00 / F: 9:00-6:00 with regular overtime during month-end and quarter-end processing.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Speaking on the telephone approximately 25% percent of workday. May need to shovel snow occasionally outside the office to clear sidewalks, etc. Continuous sitting, standing, talking, and listening for extended periods of time, use of hands in repetitive tasks such as typing and writing, speaking, and hearing for interaction with members and coworkers, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less for processing of member transactions and computer usage, and memory demands in recalling Credit Union policies, services, and state and federal regulations. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds to move supplies or office equipment, bending, squatting, or kneeling to reach supplies on ground level, reaching above shoulder level to reach supplies overhead.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees work in an office environment with average noise levels impacted by computers, printers, scanners, phones, and other surrounding conversations. The credit union is located in Central Oregon and weather during the winter may impact travel. Seasonal fires may impact air quality.
