You’ll join a collaborative engineering team where you’ll ship production code, learn operational excellence practices, and work with partners across disciplines. You’ll build confidence navigating a large codebase, improving quality through testing and telemetry, and contributing to well-scoped features that matter.
 
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to well-defined features and improvements, implement and test code, and learn how to operate and support production services. You’ll work with a technical lead and partners (e.g., program management) to understand requirements, break down work, and deliver reliably while growing your engineering judgment and skills.

The target start date range for this role is June-September, 2026. 


Responsibilities
  • Works with stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to clarify user requirements for a set of features; incorporates feedback and metrics over time.
  • Contributes to feature-level architecture proposals and design documents / user stories with oversight; considers security and compliance needs.
  • Implements code for a product/service/feature using best practices; writes maintainable, extensible code with diagnosability and reliability in mind.
  • Creates a clear plan for testing; adds/maintains unit tests and improves test coverage; leverages automation when possible.
  • Uses debugging tools, logs, and telemetry to verify assumptions and find root causes; participates in live site support / on-call rotation as needed, escalating appropriately. 


Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, Python, Rust, or Go,
    • OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical field, AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, Python, Rust or Go,
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, Python, Rust or Go,
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with distributed systems. 
  • AI fluency (e.g., experience with AI tools, AI-assisted development, etc.). 


Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
