Overview

Be at the forefront of Microsoft's AI transformation and help shape the future of AI-powered thinking tools used by millions of people across Microsoft 365. As a Product Manager on the Notebooks team, you’ll help create an AI‑forward experience that empowers people to transform heterogeneous information into clarity, insight, and action. Our team builds Copilot Notebooks—an AI‑native space for gathering information, making sense of it, and taking action—as well as OneNote, a beloved app used by millions.

As a Senior Product Manager on the Notebooks team, you will define and lead key feature areas in the next generation of Notebooks experiences, from concept to launch. You’ll stretch across product strategy, AI/ML capabilities, experimentation, GTM, and cross-team collaboration. Combining deep user empathy, strong product judgement, and AI/ML understanding to deliver delightful and cohesive product experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Own strategy, roadmap, requirements, and execution for multiple AI-first Notebooks feature areas that address customer needs and proactively elevate productivity, learning, and creativity for millions of OneNote and Microsoft 365 users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including applied sciences, engineering, design, and marketing, to deliver high-quality features and improvements that use responsible AI principles.
  • Analyze user feedback and data to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Design evaluation methodologies for your feature areas and partner with technical and science teams to ensure they meet expectations.
  • Drive experimentation through hypotheses, instrumentation, and thin‑slice delivery to ship quickly and learn continuously.
  • Ensure the successful launch and adoption of new features through GTM efforts in partnership with Product Marketing.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating and communicating with experience working across disciplines and organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in AI-first product development, including defining and documenting datasets, user queries, and contextual signals required for successful AI-driven interactions.
  • Experience in designing and executing evaluation frameworks that ensure AI features meet or exceed quality benchmarks.
  • Background or understanding of how people learn, process information, and form models—such as experience in learning science, cognitive psychology, information science, or HCI.
  • Experience in editorial, content, or visual design, with a demonstrated ability to craft clear, structured, and visually compelling experiences.
  • Experience with data-driven product development, improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • Experience in leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, specifically cross-organization collaboration.


Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
