The Cloud Infra and Supply Execution (CISE) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. The CISE finance team is responsible for supporting delivering cloud capacity at the right time, right place and right cost. We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead energy strategy and efficiency initiatives across our global cloud infrastructure. This role partners closely with engineeringand finance to optimize operations, enhance sustainability, and deliver cost savings.

Responsibilities

The role requires a high degree of agility and skill in navigating multiple stakeholder requirements while enabling the accelerated growth aspirations for the business in a highly competitive market environment. To be successful, the individual needs to be highly collaborative, self-motivated and be curious in learning.

 

  • Business partnership: Act as a strategic and trusted advisor to the cloud infrastructure leaders to influence efficiency, business direction, operational support, and investment models in energy.
  • Drive planning and review rhythms: Translate technical plans into financial  projections, perform scenario analysis, and present insights to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain financial models: Build models for cost drivers and margin improvement; identify opportunities for efficiency.
  • Process improvement: Continuously improve processes to drive automation, efficiency, prioritization, and cross team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with manager to identify high impact projects that will drive businesssuccess and align to your personal development goals.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
    • OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience with progressive advancement within your discipline.
  • Business partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence business partners without direct authority and to appropriately push back when required.
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast moving environments with evolving technology and business model trends.
  • Prefer deep understanding of the technology industry, particularly commercial public and private cloud services, energy, business models and economics.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way. Executive level oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project results through both individual and  virtual-team efforts.
  • Analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities, and ability to think strategically.
  • Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projects to detailed COGS analysis.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and the resourcefulness to deliver.


Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
