As an IT Database Administrator at Micron you will work with customers to support the company’s operational, infrastructure, and project needs. You will plan, coordinate, and administer database functions, documentation, upgrades, lifecycle, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and data protection. You will design, implement, and maintain databases in a client/server environment with respect to quality, flexibility, cost, and capacity/performance, redundancy. You will capture domain knowledge of how the data is used and other meta data useful in the management of large database enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will work closely with multiple teams that make up IT, Information security and Technology to drive impactful change
• Design, engineering and implementation of Database solutions
• Analyze and troubleshoot systems issues
• Manage the health and the capacity of production databases.
• Provide operational support for enterprise databases.
• Provide database support for company projects.
• Meet government and industry compliance requirements.

• MSSQL Server, SQL Replication, SQL Clusters, SQL Mirroring, Database Design, Client connectivity, Database backups and recoveries from enterprise backup solutions; Windows, SQL Server Capacity Assessment and Tuning, SQL design and troubleshooting; Oracle, Oracle RAC, Oracle Multitenant, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Partitioning, Compression, OEM/Grid Control, VLDBs and archiving methods; Software engineering, including programming languages (Perl and PowerShell preferred); Building and implementing infrastructure monitors and utilities; ITIL framework; Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for databases 

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

• Master’s/bachelor’s degree related to computer science or equivalent
• Database (Oracle, MSSQL) knowledge and SQL skills
• Scripting skills with any language
• Linux/Windows operations skills
• ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) knowledge
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and address root causes
• Strong partnering and teamwork skills
• Strong time management skills
• English and Japanese skills to acquire the supports from global teams and to communicate with customers
