About the Role
We are seeking a talented QA Automation Tester to join our insurtech QA team. The ideal candidate will have strong automation experience with Cypress, knowledge of Agile methodologies, and the ability to take ownership of release sign-offs. You'll be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test automation suites, ensuring product quality, and working closely with development teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test automation scripts using Cypress
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test execution documentation
- Collaborate with development and QA teams in an Agile environment to understand product requirements and translate them into test cases
- Identify test automation opportunities and implement automation frameworks
- Maintain and enhance existing test automation suites
- Perform API testing using REST APIs and relevant tools
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues
- Responsible for release sign-off and ensuring quality gates are met
- Work with CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests
- Collaborate with the team to improve test processes and methodologies
- Leverage AI coding tools to improve testing efficiency and code quality
Requirements
Essential
- 3+ years of experience in QA automation testing
- Strong proficiency in Cypress for test automation
- Experience in developing and executing automation test scripts
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Experience with REST API testing and tools (Postman or similar)
- Understanding of SaaS systems and web application testing
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient test code
- Experience creating test plans and test execution documentation
- Quick learner with ability to adapt to new technologies and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desirable
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
- Knowledge of AI coding tools and assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar)
- Experience in automating Desktop/WPF applications
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
- Knowledge of API testing tools like Rest Assured
- Experience with performance and load testing
- Knowledge of insurance or financial services domain
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Azure Repos)
- ISTQB or similar QA certification
