JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:  Assembler                                                    Reports To:  Shop Floor Lead
 
Department:     Manual Operations                                FLSA Status:   Non-Exempt
 

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assemble product using production order, drawings, marking instructions, standard and/or verbal instructions.  Work along-side other Assemblers/Inspectors to train and assist as needed.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • High mechanical aptitude/ability preferred.
  • Knowledge of operating drill press, punch press, band saw or riveting machine.
  • Knowledge of operating electrical tools

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Assemble, inspect, test, mark, and record per production order packet information, top level assemblies, sub-assemblies, or components. 
  • Work any station, using the appropriate assists to safely build product as required.
  • Prepares assemblies by painting, cleaning, washing, marking, deburring as required by the production order.
  • Fastens parts together with identified hardware, fasteners per drawings and Bill of Materials.
  • Operates air tools, indicators, overhead lifts, or industrial vehicles to assist in assembly operation.
  • Installs gages as required.
  • Bends and installs tubing as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
  • Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.


 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Work environment is typically considered within a MIBA location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities.
