About this role

The Surface Integrity Operations team, part of Integrity Operations, is dedicated to reducing harm, negative experiences, and abuse across Meta products at scale. We are committed to making integrity a core element in the success of Meta’s apps and products, ensuring that reliability, and safety are built into everything we deliver. In this role, you will conduct technical network investigations to identify, mitigate, and prevent fraud. You will investigate holistic networks of abuse to understand and deter adversaries, and then scale solutions that precisely mitigate harm and earn trust with our audiences. You will have the opportunity to influence operations, product, and policy decisions using data-driven insights, develop investment strategies to optimize outcomes, and scale solutions to protect Meta users from harm.

Responsibilities

  • Apply quantitative skills and incorporate qualitative insights to inform and influence strategy for Integrity Operations
  • Investigate complex cases to understand in granular detail how abuse is occurring and attribute the person(s) responsible. Identify and implement appropriate online and offline enforcement strategies to mitigate harm both in the current case and from similar forward-looking abuse
  • Conduct thorough investigations and Root Cause Analysis to identify community harm trends, build scalable solutions and have direct impact on user harm
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science and Data Engineering Teams to lead or contribute to large scale strategic projects as well as solve ongoing integrity problems at scale
  • Identify opportunities to build automation solutions to make Ops processes more efficient
  • Operational Guideline Development: Expertise in defining, standardizing, and rolling out operational playbooks for complex use cases
  • Data Calibration and Quality Assurance: Experience building calibration processes, validating data labeling accuracy, and ensuring ground-truth quality
  • Knowledge Management: Effective techniques for facilitating knowledge transfer, governance, and information management
  • Cross-functional Partnership: Proven collaboration experience with engineering, policy, quality evaluation, and platform operations teams
  • Communication & Documentation: Experience in drafting guidelines, documenting processes, and conveying complex processes to a variety of audiences


Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in an analytics role involving strategy, problem solving, and/or technical systems
  • Experience using analytics to break down ambiguous, complex problems using data, and drawing actionable insights
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment, while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Experience solving complex problems and autonomously operating in ambiguity
  • Proficiency with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
  • Experience explaining technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to varied audiences, translating business objectives into actionable analyses, and presenting complex insights to leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an online operations or trust & safety organization, preferably in the fraud domain
  • Advanced degree with a quantitative focus (Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Information Systems, Applied Economics or similar technical field) or equivalent practical experience


$36.54/hour to $114,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
