Merrick & Company is looking for a Process Engineer to join our team in Oak Ridge, TN. We’re seeking candidates who are passionate about nuclear design, enjoy problem-solving, and appreciate the outdoor lifestyle that Tennessee offers.

 

In this role, you will primarily focus on innovative nuclear and energy projects. Successful candidates will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality design and engineering solutions.

 

Annuall salary range for this position is $102,000.00 - $132,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and General Arrangement Drawings.
  • Perform sizing calculations for equipment such as compressors, chillers, and pumps.
  • Conduct process line sizing calculations.
  • Size control valves, pressure relief devices, and orifices.
  • Create equipment and instrument datasheets.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the selection of instrumentation and equipment.
  • Review and verify the work of other process engineers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate design inputs and activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (other engineering degrees may be considered with relevant experience).
  • At least eight years of related experience or training.
  • Proficient in ChemCad, AFT Fathom, and AFT Arrow for hydraulic pipe flow modeling.
  • Must be able and willing to obtain a Q clearance.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in Tennessee and/or South Carolina.
  • Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.
